How Rova Patio Became Shop the Lake

 

In 1979, Ron and Annelies Valbracht began the adventure of opening one of the first high-end, quality outdoor furniture businesses in the Kawartha area. It was their goal to help families create a space that would become the forefront for quality time, celebration, and everlasting memories. Partnering with several premium brands like Cabana Coast, Ratana, and Telescope Casual, Rova Patio was established and blossomed for 40 years.

 

When Ron and Annelies decided it was time to retire, Rova Patio was purchased by Jason and Niki Pulchinski, the owners of At the Lake Distributing and Waterfront Recreation Specialists. Their businesses had outgrown their current location in Peterborough and the team was bursting at the seams - they needed a bigger and fresher space. When the Rova Patio building went up for sale it was the perfect match.

 

After meeting with Ron and learning more about the business he and his wife built over the years, Niki and Jason were inspired and saw great opportunity to purchase the furniture business as well. Shop the Lake was then created and branded by the team and the renovations of the building quickly followed, bringing Shop the Lake to life.

 

Shop the Lake will offer the same high-end outdoor furniture as Rova Patio, as well as expanding to even more quality brands such as Veranda Jardin and ShoreMaster Premium Docks. Our Shop the Lake staff have years of experience in the patio furniture and design industry and it is our goal to provide excellent customer service and a wide selection of quality product lines at a variety of price points.
